چکیده

After the publication of the preceding paper (1), I found a mistake in eq. (2) and another in deriving eq. (3) from (2), to my great sorrow. The eq. (2) as an approximate expression of Px should have been (1) The basic idea was dPx=-x/k' adx, in other words, that the potential contributed to the point X (the point y=0, fig.1 of the preceding paper) by a small active region dx at x, is proportional to dx. ƒ¿ is the proportionality factor which was dropped in the original treatment, by mistake. For x= • ‡; Px=Vƒ¿k'. In actuality, the transverse current at X will increase gradually with x to attain a certain definite value in the end, as long as the active membrane resistance is not zero. In proportion to this, Px will increase and attain almost V itself at x= • ‡ in case the active membrane resistance is very small as compared to the resting. Hence,

Design of Grounding Vertical Rods Buried in Complex Soils using Radial Basis Functions

In this paper, using neural networks based on radial basis functions (RBF), a comprehensive closed-form solution for effective length of vertical grounding rod is extracted in such a way that the two effects of ionization and dispersion are simultaneously considered. In creating the model, training data are computed from multi-conductor transmission line (MTL). As a results, firstly in the prop...

Length-to-length transmission as the basis of conduction, and some related considerations about the laws of excitation.

At one time I proposed (1) the idea of length-to-length conduction to replace the classical one of point-to-point conduction. What was actually meant was that, although conduction appears to be point-to-point or continuous , there must always exist a certain action length, which is long enough to excite another length. I pointed out then that some of the fundamental phenomena of conduction coul...

Spiral length design

On the circular curve, lateral acceleration affects comfort. On the spiral, both lateral acceleration and jerk affect comfort.  The determination of maximum curving speed on the basis of lateral acceleration only is not critical because the lateral acceleration is proportional to the square of speed whereas jerk is proportional to cubic power of speed. The maximum speed on a curve is thus signi...

Thermo-elastic Damping in a Capacitive Micro-beam Resonator Considering Hyperbolic Heat Conduction Model and Modified Couple Stress Theory

In this paper, the quality factor of thermo-elastic damping in an electro-statically deflected micro-beam resonator has been investigated. The thermo-elastic coupled equations for the deflected micro-beam have been derived using variational and Hamilton principles based on modified couple stress theory and hyperbolic heat conduction model. The thermo-elastic damping has been obtained discretizi...

خواص ترابری الکترون در سیستم CNT/trans-PA/CNT

Using a tight-binding model and a tranfer-matrix technique, we numerically investigate the effects of the coupling strength, and the length of the molecule on the electronic transmission through a CNT/(single) molecule/CNT system. With trans-polyacetylene (trans-PA) as the molecule sandwiched between two semi-infinite carbon nanotube(CNT), we rely on Landauer formalism as the basis for studyi...
